CJ was on a different level.

Jackson still remains the best player I've ever watched live. That said, I think Waters would be putting up numbers close to Jackson's if he played in that era. Brown had no reins in Jackson. He did whatever he wanted and took whatever shots he wanted when he wanted. Waters has proven he has the ability to be a big time scorer. However, he plays under control and in an era where defense is much more emphasized than it was in the late 80's.

For reference, in his Freshman season Jackson averaged 23 shots per game along with 6 FT attempts. He scored 30 ppg

Waters is averaging 17 ppg. But he's only averaging 12 shots per game and 4 FT attempts.

Give Waters 11 more shots (about half being 3's) and 2 more FT's and he would definitely approach Jackson's numbers

Best all around PG I've ever seen at LSU. I missed out on Jackson.

Waters is such a complete PG and I cannot recall having more confidence in a PG to run the offense under control. Really hard to believe he's a freshman.

The atmosphere at Maravich assembly center was completely wild and electric when Action Jackson played. There is no comparison, I watched people go nuts over that guy. The games were unreal and the talent level back then was unreal. The kid Waters is a dynamic lil player, but it's just no comparison whatsoever.

Waters is like CJ but with a real coach harnassing his talent to make the team better. It's awesome to watch.

Uh Waters is great.

He is not Chris Jackson by any stretch. Chris Jackson was something unseen in 20 years.

Jackson's success is even more remarkable considering he has Tourette's Syndrome. He as talked about this openly and said he used the condition to his advantage playing basketball.

Chris Jackson is the best player I've ever seen at the college level.

However, I do think Waters is a better pure point guard.

CJ was more of a scoring guard trapped in a point guard's body.
