Just got off the phone with the customer service guy.
He said verbatim:
IF WE HAD CHANGED THE STATUS TO SHIPPED LAST WEEK IT WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TO YOU TOO SOON FOR YOUR FREE SHIPPING SELECTION.
also said its in a 'limbo' status now that can't be expedited nor can it be cancelled.
seriously.
WTF amazon.
