A 50/50 ball that is won by one of the two isn’t a 50/50 call. Whoever gets to that ball first 90% of the time is awarded the foul or advantage. Hazard was faster in this instance. Was a penalty, however soft.

Marcos Alonso is the most handsome player in the league.

Then please go on to explain how the tackle fits the IFAB Laws of the Game metric of "careless, reckless, or using excessive force." Because Hazard beats him by the length of his foot and maybe a tenth of a second. I would say that, accounting for the minuscule force, there is no reasonable person who could say that Bellerin was any of those 3 things in attempting to win the ball. Now, if you want to argue that referees commonly misapply the laws as "any contact is a foul," sure we can go there, and I'll agree.

hey man, quit being retarded. not a pen. and frick arsenal. and chelsea too.

I never said he was malicious or deserved a card or anything. It was an accident that hazard came out on top of because he was an inch faster. In the middle of the field if hazard went down I still think he’s have given a few kick to Chelsea, still no card. I agree in no way was it reckless.

I never said you did. I'm giving the criteria for a foul, not for a card.

Then I’d say contact is subjective. Plenty of fouls occur simply by being a step slower or a small mistake, is that being careless? Perhaps not but the foul is given.

Then I guess we've come to the conclusion that officials are soft and over regulate the game.
ETA: What it comes down to with me is that you can't reasonably say Bellerin knew he would be beat to the ball (careless). He also didn't flail his foot out haphazardly (reckless). Nor was the force of his kick/tackle dangerous (excessive force). To me, and my interpretation of the Laws of the Game, contact like what occurred between Bellerin and Hazard does not meet the definition of a foul. It's just incidental contact that happens when neither player is in possession of the ball. It would be different if Hazard was dribbling in possession because that would meet the "careless" criterion. Make sense?

Yes but that completely eliminates complete accidents. There has to be a certain wiggle room for if something goes wrong and the defender truly thought he would be first to the ball. There has to be a call for that, an accidental broken ankle has to be called. So whatever that call is to you, would apply to the penalty today, just a very minor example.

Does there? Ankles have been broken by plenty of legal tackles through the years. Obviously, it shouldn't happen often because most ankle breakers would fall under the criterion of "excessive force". The player making accidental contact just proves they aren't guilty of being "careless."

I can see why it was called a pen bc Bellerin missed the ball and clipped the bottom of the boot, but my word that is soft.
Hazard’s embellishment was shameful, straight up embarrassing.

He made a meal of it. But Wilshere's was just as bad if not worse, and he should've been off for it.

Jack’s was bad as well bc he threw his leg into Christiansen
But Hazard acted like he was shot in the shin

And robbie earl and the other guy said it was. I've said numerous times it was an embellished soft penalty, but hazard got kicked late, and beat the defender to the ball. Its up to the defender to pull back and its athleticism and skill to know when you have the person beat and when you don't. He thought he would get there before hazard and misjudged it. I wouldn't have been up in arms had they not called it, but I wasn't surprised either, and given the ticky tacky calls that the refs make these days I think that gets called 75% of the time. Ref was standing over it.

It shouldn't be a penalty, the penalty rule needs to be fixed and it should have happened years ago but soccer people are stupid and would never consider it.

Not a word about Wilshere not getting a second yellow for the blatant dive
There was contact, So that's a foul right? Regardless if wilshere made a meal of it.

Well he went down and the referee didn’t call the foul, so he either took a dive or the referee missed something. Since he was standing over it he could have very easily given a card for simulation. You know very well that one of those was an embellished foul and one was a simulated foul.

On Wilshere yea.
