Disney simply cannot comprehend what they have in Star Wars

They are treating it as if they bought some cartoon or comic book characters, which is their legacy. But the fans didn't grow up with the Skywalkers coming to life from comic books or on Saturday morning cartoons. We were introduced to them on massive movie screens, with a family history that was larger than life.
You just don't cast that aside, to rinse, wash, and repeat. They think they bought the SW universe (much like thet did the Marvel universe) and can just mix and match pieces, change fundamental characteristics, and bring in a new set of action figures to sell merchandise
But the Skywalkers are the Star Wars family. Just like the Cartwrights were on the Ponderosa, or the Ewings in Dallas, or the Waltons on their mountain, or the Partridges, or Brady Bunch, Jeffersons, Sopranos, Clampetts, etc
You don't simply cast these families out of their homes, or change their personalities, or force out of character lines on them, or invade their places with other families. Fans won't react to that. Hell, someone even tried to bring Dallas back with the originals, but when J.R. died irl, it was quickly cancelled
Disney thinks they bought Walton mountain, and now are entitled to show us stories of all the other families that live around them. And are mystified that we aren't excited about that

That's funny coming from you. You have been up in every thread saying how great that crappy movie was
You have terrible judgment

Having a star wars movie every year is too much. They're going to run it into the ground.

What about the two ewok movies without a single Skywalker? That's pre Disney.

They really need to replace Kathleen Kennedy with Mike Stoklasa.

Nah, I'll take creativity over blind cynicism anytime.

You do realize not one of those quotes shows that I think this movie is good nor does it show me defending the quality of TLJ? You dumb frick.

Point is that this didn't start with Disney, they've tried and failed at things in this universe before. You're not gonna love everything, but the things you don't like shouldn't ruin the things you do.
But what do I know, I liked the movie.
And you're a fricking nerd.

Mike would be a great consultant, but I'm not so sure the RLM care too much about the Star Wars universe continuity.

Are you referring to Mr. Plinkett? Or the actual Red Letter Media reviews? Because there's a difference.

Whats creativity to you? Its a movie review. There was nothing creative about this Star Wars.
Besides, its hilarious you're praising a 50 year old IP, calling it "Creative".
Disney literally bought the franchise which was created by someone else...talk about uncreative as it gets.

And yet you make the same point
If Ewok spinoffs didn't go anywhere, why does Disney think they can re-cast Star Wars, and crap on the Skywalker legacy?

Thank you

Maybe in the sense he could help them avoid mistakes, but he's not a creative type just a critic.
