So laws that havent existed for 50 years are the reasons for their problems today?
If that's the case, how are any minorities successful? I know quite a few very successful minorities.
If millions of minorities are successful today in the U.S., then you shouldn't attribute race as the reason for those who aren't. They just suck, like poor white people.
There will always be low, average, and high performing people in every demographic... and let's not pretend ~50 years is a long time it's at most two generations. What's wrong with giving a community a leg-up to counteract what our a-hole grandparents did (for personal gain) that helped force them into poverty?

Bmy, how do you explain the fact that the poverty rate and crime rates among blacks were falling fast in the 40s and 50s, before the civil rights era?

What does this have to do with race?

I think he feels poor = black. I’d assume wealthy blacks also don’t want their neighborhood filled with poor folks.

What do studies say about dropping half an ounce of shite into a gallon of clean water?
They say that the shite is diluted and not nearly as bad as before.
The clean water now becomes shitty water as a side effect though!

After Katrina, FEMA wanted to put a trailer encampment on some vacant property near my parent's neighborhood. Needless to say the folks in the neighborhood weren't too pleased. Among the most vocal were the black residents. They said they worked too hard to get away from that kinda shite only to have it put in their back yard.

Can’t wait to hear how dem-progs enjoy diversity when it’s in their backyards.

People should earn what they receive.

I’m pretty sure plans are in the works to put a huge hotel across from the stadium in Vine City. Will be interesting to see if it happens. Also, if you think that area is propping up the elections for John and many at City Hall, you should check out south Atlanta. That’s where it is at.

After having read numerous forums on the problems of Section 8 housing absolutely destroying good neighborhoods, I've come to the conclusion that the only way to stop it is this.
If someone starts renting their home to Section 8, burn that motherfricker to the ground. Not while the family is inside obviously.
Section 8 is an incurable cancer to good neighborhoods.

I think I'll stick to burning them down.

As long as you aren’t trashy HOA’s are of no concern to the overall enjoyment of your property.

They were discriminated against and not allowed to participate in most markets.. and thus forced to create their own economy.. so I'd attribute it to nothing more than the passage of time and the post-World War II boom.. it takes time for businesses to grow and for their 'sub'economy to grow and take form. Poverty begets crime.. and wealth makes people soft. We've seen crime and especially homicides dropping to record lows recently too.
Crime was trending up in the early 40s though.
