re: Why do you like small town life?

I know many small town people from my family and childhood. Every time I'm around them the discussion centers around home projects, satanic people in their neighborhoods, neighbors who aren't up to par with them, church duties,and food. I've never heard so many discussions about what needs to be done to prepare for the next meal.

I've lived in a downtown condo in a big city for the last decade and have never once thought about anything these people deem as major discussion topics. I walk or bike to work, play a lot of golf, and walk down to my local watering hole or restaurant and have a few drinks with friends if I get bored discussing the local sports teams.

The difference between my life and my families mesmerize me, but what mesmerizes me the most is their inability to realize that there is life out there outside of their 10 mile radius.
