I'm still really early in the game I assume. I went to Zora land and tried to face the Lynel with 3 hearts and weapons with around a 20-ish rating. Didn't go well. Now currently trapped in Gerudo desert until nightfall.
At first I really hated how fragile the weapons are, but now kind of enjoying finding new weapons and shields.

I don't like this mechanic at all. My problem is that I find a weapon whose design I really like then it breaks after a couple battles and I'm stuck using some crappy club.
For standard weapons that you find in the world (rusty sword) or that you look from monsters (moblin club), I'm fine with the low durability but it doesn't make sense for quest rewards (Zora Trident) or the loot from chests in shrines to break so easily.
Then broken weapons can never be repaired. Once the weapon breaks, you essentially loose it forever which is dumb.
