got to actually cut spending

it should really be the first priority over cutting taxes because starve the beast doesn't work in the long run

They did cut spending, a lot in fact.

But that is separate from the argument Brownback and other Republicans repeatedly make to justify these type of tax policies. Which is that they will replace or actually improve revenue through an adrenaline shot of incredibly high growth. Which as we have seen in Kansas, failed on every point.

But if the idea is that when you combine spending cuts, that is somehow the magic that grows revenue, there is no real evidence of that either. In fact, depending on the cuts, your cuts are gonna be fighting any of the growth potential in your tax cuts. Just from basic cause and effect.
