Maybe LSU didn’t make an offer because they wanted AT to leave. If he left and they didn’t want him to leave, he should be able to eat crow and get his job back.
That’s not happening so, maybe it was LSUs choice for him to leave also.

You people act like the program is going to fold.
I’ve never posted a single thing about Thomas before this thread and think he is the biggest rantard myth around. LSU Recruiting didn’t fold when Nick Saban left, when Larry Porter left, when Frank Wilson left, and it certainly won’t die because some front office nerd leaves.
I just find it interesting that a guy that the admin put so much stock in didn’t even bother to find out what his new job, responsibilities, compensation was going to be before leaving LSU where he was being very well compensated and had achieved a cult following as some sort of recruiting ace. Almost as if he couldn’t wait to leave.

When you consider how much Orgeron has vouched for him at three different stops,
Speculative. He was a graduate intern at UT the year before O got there and then served under Monte Kiffin as a defensive assistant in 09 before moving with the Kiffins to USC in 2010 before coming to LSU in 2013.
If anything, Austin is the one that vouched to get O on staff at LSU in 2015.

Both The Advocate and Times Pic have published that they have sources in the AD saying they made an increased offer to keep him.
I don’t care if they did or not. But if the local media is printing lies for the admin to appease fans that is even more worrisome than being turned down or just saying no thanks but good luck in Knoxville.

quote:it doesn't show that at all. it shows that AT thought he had a better offer but didn't. that's it.
If they did and AT was so set on leaving that he turned them down without even knowing what the offer at UT was, AT looks dumb but it also shows that the situation in the admin just may not be that appealing at the moment to those with other options.
i know you want sooooooooooo bad for this to be a black mark on LSU but it just isn't.
I find your obsession with conspiracy theories troubling in multiple ways. multiple. ways.

If u listen to shitty arse 104.9 all day...the local hosts have discussed it adnauseum for the last 3 weeks. To the point it appears they have no other topics to dissuss.

My opinion is that he was told he would have the same power and responsibilities at UT as he did at LSU. When he got there and told them what responsibilities he had at LSU, UT was shocked and recanted. Thats the only scenario here to me that makes any sense.

Joe and O have done some things that make them look incompetent, they dont need your help doing that. This by chance is not one of those times.
- They probably did offer him a raise, maybe O thinks that retaining an entire staff into the next season would be helpful in his recruiting efforts and the stability of a program. If that cost them 75K more a year so be it. It doesnt seem like that offer is on the table now however and Austin has egg on his face.

Yeah Austin looks dumb too and UT is just an joke at this point but it appears pretty embarrassing that we supposedly couldn’t keep a guy on staff in an imaginary bidding war with ourselves.
how you can misconstrue this situation and spin it as an embarrassment for LSU is beyond me. are you that much of an LSU hater?
we did not bid against ourselves. it spears that UT and Thomas screwed this up. it is VERY possible that LSU was OVERPAYING this guy as a result of the need for him to actually recruit last year and our problem has been solved. this admin guys are important but they can be replaced and easily.
conjecture, but it looks to me that Thomas has adopted an inflated view of his worth and UT was having none of that from basically a "pencil jockey".

If they didn't, which would be troubling in and of itself, and the local media is just printing out whatever our admin tells them to to keep the fans sedated then yes that is even more troubling.
What an idiotic post.
So what you are insinuating in your first paragraph is that if LSU offered him to stay and he didn't, LSU looks bad, did a poor job, and nobody wants to be at LSU.
Then at the same exact time you are insinuating that if LSU DID NOT offer him to stay that LSU looks bad and did a poor job.
quote:
What don't you follow about this?
He's probably confused like any normal person would be that in either situation it could be presumed to make LSU look bad or to remotely be at fault. Only a serious hater like yourself can come up with stupid shite like this.

Aleva and UTk are the Reese's Cup of CFB Administration. Two great tastes that taste great together.

When it was going on under currie, it seemed like an "AD in waiting" type deal. Not so much under Fulmer.
Posted on 12/22/17 at 11:40 am to TOSOV
AT probably had a deal with Currie the previous AD, Pruitt comes in and tells Fulmer to get rid of AT, problem solved
