Just had a really nice buck that I thought about taking the shot on and passed. I was shaking like a little bitch

I think its neat how I can go from being calm as day when a deer I know I'm not going to shoot comes out vs getting shook up when a shoot able deer comes into range. Granted this is mostly applies to bow. Like I can get shaky when a deer comes in thinking Imma shoot it if it gets within 30yrds but suddenly calm down when I realize its just a button bk.

I’ll quit hunting when I lose that feeling.

My sons hunt and they have many kills. They still feel the shakes either before or after the shot and most times both......

Yeah, when I got the chance to shoot a big one this year I turned into a spastic goof. I don’t think I’ll ever calm down when I shoot a deer.

I hate to buck the trend. But every big buck that I have killed has been in the pawmettos, and I have have to make split second decisions. Haven't had the time to get the shakes, when I see them they're usually less than 100 yrs and I have to shoot or won't see them again. I get the shakes after I shoot.

I only had it once. I was in South Texas years ago and attempted a 400 yard shot at a nice buck. I was shooting across a canyon and misjudged the range, shooting over his back on my first shot. Well it was on then! That buck went running up the canyon and I was breathing so hard from my miss I could barely hit Texas, much less that buck. Four rounds later I watched him top over the opposite ridge to freedom. I had half the deer camp looking for me because they thought I was shooting like that because I was lost.....LOL

I see a pretty good bit of deer, but I had a nice bunch cross my lane last week and my heart started pounding out of my chest. I thought "Oh yeah, that's why I do this"

My dad always says if he ever loses “the shakes” he’s gonna hang it up, because what’s the point. Ain’t happened yet!

Thing I've always noticed....how cold you get a few minutes after "the shakes".

Not to hijack the thread but I still feel the shakes every time I see a redfish tailing.
