I guess it is better than nothing. He probably keeps several types of hot sauces on hand to appease his black guests as well

So do the natives. But they hate everyone

In local native mythology black people were created from mosquitoes

I'm white and that types of hot sauce hospitality would make me happy as a clam

Most southern whites have more in common with rural blacks than urban whites. I sure as hell do.

I keep a fine selection of hot sauces and pepper sauces and chow chow to please me. But my melanin rich friends seem to appreciate it more than my snow white friends.

Damn right it is.

But my obvious playful use of racial stereotypes (or poor white folks stereotypes, I just don't see the racial tension I HEAR about in other areas of the country. It seems like we've just gotten used to each other and have more of a shared heritage among us than other areas of the States.

Maybe it's because we fought so hard to preserve our southern culture while everyone else decided to preserve their "racial" culture.

I have a good friend who is in her upper 80s is black and from Mississippi. She once cooked up some chicken feet. I told her I stop at the ankle. But damn her greens and split pea soup are heavenly.

Most racist dude I've ever met, period, was from Serbia.

No doubt. Those are some racist fricks. It's like it's ingrained in their DNA

We were in a public place and the dude just started going off on certain races. Loudly. I had to "shhh" him and tell him he can't say shite like that over here, especially out loud in public places. He seriously didn't have any idea he was doing anything wrong.

The South is the least racist part of the country because the white people in the South actually see real black people in their day to day lives and view them as actual human beings, the good and the bad.

Many parts of the rest of the country view black people as imaginary political pawns.

In my experience the most racist people I've met have been from other parts of the US. Especially the north-east. The South has its reputation because of obvious reasons, but I've seen and heard some real racist shite that I used to only hear from old folks coming out of New Yorkers my age.

This, bigly. In the south, we actually live and work with black people every day. From what I can gather, it's still heavily segregated in other parts.

White flight was MOuntain Brook

FWIW, it wasn't. Mountain Brook was rich flight, as it started in 1942 or something. The other suburbs didn't come until after integration.

It's not even close really. You have people from areas that are like 2% black looking down their noses at the South.

Hell in the 2% black they do have not a single one of them are from the projects.

Really easy to have big talk about how awesome you are with black people when you basically have no interactions with black people

A white person in most of those places can go days if not weeks without even crossing a black person's path much less having to deal with them on a day-to-day basis

So woohoo you managed to not have any racial incidents when the race is never come into contact with each other. Color Me shocked.

I said it before and I'll say it again. You can be the most racist fricker on the planet but if there aren't any blacks around you're probably not going to have any troubles.

The South doesn't have more racial difficulties because of racism. The South has more publicize racial difficulties because there are more opportunities for racial difficulties
