There is a lot of hate directed towards Joe Alleva on this board. I wanted to point out some of the positive things he's done since he's been here.
In my view, he is the best Facilities AD LSU has ever had. And it's not even close. Also LSU's Graduation Success Rate as reported by the NCAA remains at an all-time high with a score of 88, 4 points higher than the national average.

I've been an LSU fan all my long life. And Tiger Stadium in particular has never looked better. All LSU facilities overall are in the best shape they've ever been in.
And that's thanks to Joe Alleva. He will be long remembered as the best facilities AD LSU has ever had. No other AD has ever done half as much facilities wise.
The future is bright here!

well, we does have about 100 times more money at his disposal than any previous AD

Thanks Joe. Especially for my $83.76 nachos and tiger water at football games.

Les Miles' football program had a lot to do with this. Winning football program = big money for the entire athletic dept and university.

Fair or not, ADs are judged on hires. He botched the Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones hires. Perhaps redeemed himself with Will Wade.
He botched the PROCESS of hiring Orgeron. The jury is out on whether or not that will be a failure.
I think FKing stabbed him in the back when he tried to get rid of Miles in 2015.
He's an excellent money man, fundraiser and facilities builder. The school loves him, which is why he is not going anywhere.

They must have been rolling change for 30 years to save up for that. The old one was embarrassing.

I think most rational people can look at his tenure and see some good and some bad. I defended him for years simply because the AD was so strong financially and practically all of our facilities were getting some kind of face lift. All along I knew that his legacy should and would be defined by how and when he replaced Miles. That, as most would agree, was an unmitigated disaster.

over the top a little there are we not? "unmitigated disaster" is not what I would call it. UT's search is the standard for that. also, he didn't give a 75 million dollar 10 guaranteed contract to hire a coach either. you and I do not really know who was available at the time but we got hosed by both fisher and herman and we may come out better for it. only time will tell. so far, Orgeron has reversed the decline Miles had us on. will he bring us titles? we shall see.

The department doing well financially has very little to do with Alleva's management. The LSU AD has been profitable since at least the late 70s. Hell Joe Dean made money with a smaller Tiger Stadium, which housed a lousy football team, charging less money for admission, and concessions, and he didn't have big time CBS money or the SEC network as additional revenue streams.

I'm tired of this lame arse excuse. Can't afford it; then don't go. Every college and nfl stadium charges out of the wazzoo!

All renovations and upgrades were planned and Joe Alleva happened to be the AD.
I think he did a very poor job with coaching changes and program leaders are the very reason programs excel and prosper.....
Joe Alleva is a politician first.....don't you forget it
I would love to have an Extremely Pro-LSU Athletics AD, Alleva is not that one...........

Botched Miles 2015 firing

Have a nice day

Let's not forget his botching the Florida game rescheduling. Yes UF admin weren't cooperative but the optics and final outcome show that Alleva is bad at PR/negotiating

He spent money sitting in a bank account is not an accomplishment. The very fact that you post that as his only accomplishment is pathetic on Alleva's part.
