Olatiwa Karade, a 19-year-old in Orange, N.J., has created her own line of sweatshirts with pro-black political slogans on them. Her company and Etsy shop, SplendidRainCo, sells “clothing for the modern activist.”

quote:

Karade told Dazed that her designs were influenced by the current political climate in the United States following the election of Donald Trump.

quote:

“The current political climate, my coming of age as a young black woman and my personal experiences with racial discrimination really nudged me to do something,” Karade said. “Digging through my clothes to find something to wear to Afropunk Brooklyn 2017, I decided on a politically charged T-shirt my mother had handed down to me. I loved how I felt wearing it, with my ideas and beliefs proudly on display and desperately wanted more. Thus, the sweaters were born!”

quote:

“I was a heavy Bernie Sanders supporter,” she says. “So we were at odds, completely, with Trump supporters, and everything they said was just so invalidating of my life and experiences as a Black woman. It was frustrating, of course, and it makes you angry. But on the other side, I was dealing with very liberal, white people who loved Bernie, who were all for Democratic socialism, but when he would speak about police brutality, Sandra Bland, or all the things that were going on in the Black community, then all of a sudden they were [saying things like] all lives matter, or that we can’t move forward if we don’t all work together. And I was like, we’re not working together if you’re silencing us.”

And the best seller ...

An excellent race-baiting post, Will.

You'd make for a great employee of Daily Caller or Breitbart!

Race is a non-factor to me. However, this woman should realize that alienating over 50 % of your potential customer base is a very bad business move.

Good for her for knowing her customer base and selling shite that they will buy.

As a business owner, you can't be everything to everyone.

She's concentrating on a niche market segment that is predisposed towards anger, racial antipathy, and bitterness, same as Trump did in getting elected.

Since she's so wrapped up culture appropriation, someone should tell her to take off that damn shirt.

She's appropriating someone else's culture.

You're right, but when starting out, one might think it is better to appeal to all of the masses until you are able to find your niche and make your mark.

Fact: Her culture would still be running around bare chested living in mud huts if not for actually having some tenants of a superior culture forced upon her.

So this young black woman has decided to open a business, potentially employ others, and add to GDP?

frick it, looks like she's doing exactly what ole D. Trump wants her to do.

It's a shite business idea and all, but she's entitled to it.

OP: here's a woman who wishes she was born in 1820 and hates white people

You: stop posting pictures of anti-white slogans!
