Help; which Harmony Remote to buy

Looking for programmable remote that works with Samsung Smart TV, AT&T U-verse box, Apple TV, Amazon Alexa, maybe even a Sony non-smart TV, and potential future devices. This will be a gift.
Considering the following Harmony remotes.
Harmony Ultimate One
Harmony 950
Anyone with experience with either or both? Is it worth it? Not sure I want to dip into the hub version, already have a few different hubs including a Samsung but will consider if it's the right choice.

What do you mean by work with Amazon Alexa? The hub is needed for that but you may not need it depending on your answer.

Heres what I have gathered from info around but im no pro:
You can connect harmony hub to alexa but it needs the hub. Alexa can only connect to one hub. Im not sure about the new echoes because they come with their own hub.
You should be able to control your tv through the hub but you need the Harmony hub. Hope this helps or directs you to another source to confirm.

The hub also allows you to control your devices from your phone. I actually use this a lot. Swipe down on my iphone then can quickly turn the volume up or down
