Or how an alleged ephebophile beat out other Republicans for nomination to the Senate. Mind you, we're talking intra-party races and primaries, so it's not about "who represents your policy positions." These are the guys the people wanted.
There aren't many decent people in DC who are even in the conversation for president anyway. It takes a billion plus to make a run and I don't see the cronies lining up behind decent people.

So you still don't know how HRC rigged the entire dnc primary or how she lost the general?
And you still don't understand the protest vote against the rnc and DC that got DJT elected?

Don't let Bill Clinton hear that. He'll be pissed to know you don't consider him as modern.

Eh. You have to choose from who runs. People fall prey to spin of the well monied candidate far too often. I'll give you that, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of decent people running for anything these days.
I could make a faint hearted argument for Rand Paul, but outside of that, everyone who ran for president was fricking horrible.

Hillary has name recognition and in addition was able to use the party to prevent competition from even entering against her
Roy Moore was the completely logical result of what happens when all of the money flows in behind a candidate nobody wants and then uses that money to run a scorched-earth campaign against Mo Brooks. Basically they poisoned the well. Mo Brooks supporters would have rather stick a needle in their eye then go to the polls for Luther strange after that bullshite primary
Finally Donald Trump is super easy to explain. It started out as him just making the most noise and a multi horse race so that everybody else split the vote among themselves. And then the turning point was when all of the rest of them decided to become Democrats and blame Trump supporters for the fact people were coming to kick their arse.
All three of those are completely easy to explain politically. To pretend otherwise is silly
