The shooter engaged in flawed thinking.
Where is evidence that either the cop or his department have come to such a conclusion? It is my understanding they have done just the opposite. My understanding is they claim they'd do the exact same thing again.

Meaning ANY innocent human who cannot physically comply with crawling, can (will) be legally executed on the spot.

He claims he would handle it exactly the same and the not guilty was that he followed his training.

For the sake of the community in AZ I sure do hope that they have addressed procedure and trained new guidelines

Of course. Neither is bound to make such a determination just yet. The ex-cop is now off the hook. His defense - agency training, has now been upheld in a court of law. The ex-cop has no deep pockets worth suing.

It is my position that the agency will eventually reach a civil settlement with the family. Civil lawyers have got to be relentlessly reaching out to the family over this. It'll be the family's version of Shark Tank, where they'll have to decide which attorney is in their best interest to work with.

Sorry, but that is simply not a rational conclusion. The unsuccessful criminal prosecution that we are talking about was limited to only the circumstances that took place in this one event. So let's not get carried away with describing this as if it's some kind of Supreme Court case that will cause all law enforcement agencies to change their policy to do what you described.
