New TOOL will “definitely” be out in 2018

At this point, it’s hard not to roll your eyes at anything with “Tool” and “New Album” in the same sentence.
They’re damn good but 10,000 Days is old as shite. I’ve researched the legal issues and whatnot. Maynard has put out about 1000 new songs since the latest Tool album. I can appreciate APC and Puscifer but it’s not Tool. Hope they can actually get it done.

I love Tool and actually pretty much all of Maynard's projects. However, I call bullshite on any new Tool release until I see it. Even then it may take a few weeks of listening to any "new release" to actually believe it's not a scheme or a fraud. Call me skeptical.
Until then I will continue to listen to Lateralus at least once a week and occasionally the others as well.

What is this like the 4th or 5th year in a row we’ve heard that there will definitely be an album in “the next year”?
They are one of my favorite bands ever but I won’t believe a new album is coming until I actually hear it myself.

Consider me skeptical until it's officially confirmed. Yes, this is a little more direct than previous comments, but there's still delay potential for all the reasons we've heard before.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to a new Tool album.

Yes! Can’t wait, 2018 they say......... so that means 2028! Only ten more years.
