Happy Holidays was not only worthless but meaningless. You want to say Happy....say the name of what that religious person is celebrating...don't be so generic.

On Long Isand where I live it has always been Happy Holidays because Jewish people don't celebrate Christmas.
So spare me the tales of how this it totally recent, I am over 50 years old and it has always been this way here.

Or someone you don’t know well
Or your implying plural (Xmas and New Years, for instance)
