My current companies parties are pretty lame. We all just go to a steakhouse for dinner, everyone drinks 1 or 2 glasses of wine and we small talk for 2 hours then leave
My old company though, we used to have private parties at resorts with an open bar and then all go on chartered fishing trips the next day, those were awesome

I work for a huge company so the parties are with the department. My department is probably 90% married and older than 40.

This is what I expect my company party is going to be this year. It's what we do every year, but afterwards we go out to a bar or club on the company's dime, which is where the fun happens. We're doing the party next Monday instead of tomorrow because the Principals have a charity golf event, so it will probably be tame. Still looking forward to the bone in filet at Joes.
