CFP Selection Committee Protocol: A Document for Liars.

CFP Selection Committee Protocol
Winning Conference Championships: Ohio State
Strength of Schedule: Ohio State= #2(Alabama #10)
Stated yet again and again, both favor Ohio State.
Mentioned YET AGAIN and in fact, were the only two metrics mentioned in this particular instance. Obviously, they are very important to the committee. At least until last year. For the record, I would have voted Penn State in last year without hesitation.
Ehem...
Alabama (3rd in their conference) - #4
Ohio State (CHAMPION) - #5
i.e -" we want to put our favorite(big brand/money) teams in the CFP not some nerds with their gay math. What has math ever done right?" *high fives nearest meathead*
..and then ignore them completely.
So Gumps can stop claiming FSU in week #1 as a big victory. They were obviously overrated and no one can know that until at least a few games have been played. Hence the instruction above from the CFP committee to its voting members.
"Conference championships won" and "strength of schedule" are mentioned many more times in the protocol document, always in that order except for one instance.

Propsed Selection Process:
Establish a committee that will be instructed to place an emphasis on winning conference championships, strength of schedule and head-to-head competition

When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered:
Championships won
Strength of schedule

Under the current construct, polls (although well-intended) have not expressed these values; particularly at the margins where teams that have won head-to-head competition and champions are sometimes ranked behind non-champions...

Get over it.
If Ohio State hadn’t been destroyed by Iowa they’d be in.

Say what you want but if I had to put my mortgage on a team in the playoffs to win it all, it'll probably be Bama. They lost once to an Auburn team while Ohio State got blown out by Iowa.

Do you even eyeball test, bro?

Penn State won the Big 10 and the head to head last year, no?
Posted on 12/6/17 at 4:58 pm to nola000
The mandate clearly states that if the two schools had similar records then you consider conference championships, head to head, strength of schedule, etc.
They didn't have similar records.
You conveniently left that part out.

It's simple, last year and this year.
2 losses>1 loss
2 losses>1 loss

Ohio st benefitted from this exact scenario last year, yet Penn St beat them head to head and won the conference.
As much as I hate Bama, at least the Committee was somewhat consistent with this BS two years in a row. If Buckeyes would’ve gotten in this year Penn St should riot from the previous year.

winning conference championships, strength of schedule and head-to-head competition
quote:Did Bama lose two games? Or get killed by anyone? How are OSU and Bama's circumstances comparable?
When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered
quote:They are when they get destroyed by inferior competition and lose more games.
have not expressed these values; particularly at the margins where teams that have won head-to-head competition and champions are sometimes ranked behind non-champions
So.....whats the problem here?

quote:Yep. And if they would have put OSU in based on opposing circumstances, that would have been frowned upon.

Dude it's a stupid Star Chamber...everyone knows this.
Like IOC...I'm sure it went to the highest bidder.
Nobody cares more about football over academics than Bama.
They probably emptied their coffers. Tyrone Willingham hasn't coached in 8 years. Dude needs $$$.

Alabama probably loses a couple of games with OSU's schedule, they weren't that great when they played quality competition or any team that could remotely be compared to OU, Michigan State, Wisconsin or Penn State in fact Alabama's eye test was kinda weak in those games, could be exposed again against Clemson

What head-to-head are you referring to?

Ohio State played and beat higher ranked teams. At what point does this outweigh one bad loss? How many ranked teams to they have to play and beat to cancel out that one loss?

FINALLY a reasonable post.
Thanks for not bending over like the rest of these capitulating panty-wastes.
