Alabama will always get in the CFP if they only lose one game and not even win their division. 11-1 regular season, second place finish in division will always get them in just 'cause they're "Alabama."
Who you lose to, and by how much, makes a big difference.

If that were their only loss, I guarantee you they would have gotten in. The committee would have found every rationale to select them for the CFP, no doubt about it.

Quality wins, including defeating an undefeated team for your conference championship, should also make a big difference. Had Wisconsin and Auburn not played a conference championship and sat on their asses like Alabama did, they may both be in the playoff. They were penalized for playing the conference championship games while Alabama was rewarded for finishing second in their division and sitting home during the SECCG.

F that noise. So the Gumps play no one, their best W is against a 3 loss LSU team, lost to Auburn soundly, did not win their division or conference. They get to sit out and watch and teams compete for a conference title and then slide into the playoffs. That is some serious bullshite. I am so tired of the Gumps.
