Davis, Cain and Emery in next years class are all better every down backs than Joiner. They will pass him up bc of his running style. He should seriously consider converting to DE/OLB

If Joiner wants to commit then you take him. His size and athleticism make him versatile enough to help elsewhere if RB doesn't work out.
At that point if they really want Pooka also then keep an eye on his grades, keep pushing him and save a spot at the end. If hes a wait and see guy then let things play out and if there's room, take him.
Personally I take both If there's room. I see these 4 kids in a different light I suppose as to position.
My take is that a new(to us) position is being created consisting of kids like Provens, Williams and other versatile type kids with multi-position versatility . I see it as the Canada version of the Harvin role. Some will not work out and will either be slotted as a RB or WR,so we'd be smart to take a couple of kids each of the next couple of years to build our stock and find the right fits.
Gage was a guy most had forgotten was here until Canada came along and fit him at the spot and I thought he did well considering the circumstances.
CEH is an everydown back here. Hes just short and happens to have some scatback traits. He's thick, tough and good. He will be starting at some point next year.

Unfortunately with the new class size rules we have very very limited spots. Not sure you can take a guy who doesn't clearly have a position fit or a guy with grade/character issues

Don't forget, despite the best efforts of the people who absolutely hate that Orgeron is our coach, right now Canada is still our OC... so Joiner is that all-purpose back in his offense as opposed to your "typical" APB. A frame of a big WR, but with the cuts/vision of a RB. So if not needed at HB, he can/will be utilized in the F-Back spot. It would open up a whole other set of plays with "2-back sets" with someone like that who can, with much hated motions (don't do anything- amirite?), pre-snap go from HB to F-B or even TE.

In other words, Joiner is LSU's perfect APB... or appears to be. Don't let 247's or Scout's definition throw you off.

If orgeron really wants to go back to I form offense, he may not want Pooka anymore. Although he is from New Orleans and O still has to appease those legendary coaches there who are mad Jabar Juluke didn't get a lifetime contract for finishing 3rd on the only RB he recruited.

Joiner is more of the prototypical bruiser we need

Show me a single play in any of Joiner's highlights where he is a bruiser.

The guy doesn't have any highlights of him running anyone over. He's a finesse back in a power back's body. You may think that's advantageous but it's the opposite. He's not a bruiser with shakes. He's a slow scat back with no power.

Pookas grades make it risky but LSU will regret not signing this kid if he ends up qualifying. Kid is the next Tavon Austin.

Take both. Pooka could be a RB or Slot Receiver and is a speed merchant. Joiner is a big, hard running SEC back.

Dude had some amazing rushes...Fun to watch. Going to be really fun to watch if CEH = MJD.

However, that Etienne run was something to watch also.

CEH could easily get 15-25 touches per game imo. Have you seen his lower body. Kid is built like a tank. He’s heavier than guice I believe.

Take neither and get the grad transfer from Baylor Terrence Williams.

A grad transfer or a JUCO kid to be a branch back until the 2019 kids get here is a more solid plan.

It's not a good comparison... Pooka might not be an everydown back right now- but he's special. Pooka would be a game changer the first day he steps on campus. A recruiting expert that I speak with weekly said that he is one of the Top 5 athletes that has come out of LA in the past 25 years. I put him on the spot and asked him to name the other athletes that you would put Pooka in the same class as. He named, T. Mathieu, E. Reed, I. Hilliard. As a coach you can't let someone in that company get away.

I'd compare him to former all-pro Brian Mitchell. Who is 5'10" 195 and has the 2nd most yards from scrimmage in NFL history. We CAN'T let him get away.

Williams is a special talent. With grades he is a take imo.

Not sold on Joiner at tailback.

Anyone who has ever seen Pooka play knows he is a rare talent that you see only so often. Kid has over 1,100 yards rushing in 4 playoff games this year in 5A football, he is unbelievable.

Harold Joiner v Pooka Williams

How in the hell do you not go all in on Pooka? You can walk across a cow pasture kick over a cow patty and find running back like Joiner. Kids like Pooka come along once every 4 or 5 yrs. If Canada stays he is perfect for that offense.
