Have you looked at Bamas schedule? You played 1 "good team" and lost

Wait... You think Wisky had A harder schedule than Bama???

If so you need to just go away.............

I think the double speak is what has made Davis so irritated during broadcasts as it makes ESPN look horrible and why you saw Herbstriet just leave today. They’re as frustrated with Hocutt as a common fan is.

Davis should have gone at Hocutt more than he did. When Hocutt said that the committee thought Alabama was unequivocally better than Ohio State, he should have jumped in and said "then why 5 days on this same network did you say the committee saw little separating 5 (Alabama) and 8 (Ohio State)."

You could tell he was thinking it, but he never said it. I don't think you could have handled the entire process worse than Hocutt did.

My only problem is I think they got 4 best teams, but I’m not sure like last year. But tell us the first show what you’re looking for so there’s no complaints. Explain to us why you think there is separation when last week there was not.

I also think Davis didn’t want to embarrass Hocutt as he has done enough of that himself.

I think Ohio State at their best can beat any of those teams, but they were so inconsistent this year that I can't argue the result. Alabama is a better matchup for Clemson then Ohio State.

And that is what maddening about it all. Hocutt basically made it sound like one big eyeball test.

8-4 Nebraska beats 12-0 Michigan in the B1GCG

What does this tell us?

It tells us that NU is champion of the B1G and a division and that Michigan is now 12-1 with a division championship. Also NU matched up well with Michigan.

It also tells us NU did what they were asked to do.

What has Alabama done this year? Did they win a conference? No. Did they win a division? No. So they failed on their first 2 goals.

We've learned that criteria doesn't really matter.
By today, you mean last year, right?

That is the exact thing that will happen when you go to auto qualifiers. But, it does take subjectivity out of the process. OOC games wouldn't really matter anymore.

How could you legitimately do this?

Does nobody realize that Alabama is incapable of losing by 31 to average teams? Or...ANY teams...?

Alabama and OSU can never be compared as is.

Reauxl, love you brother bc our mutual LeGOAT appreciation but of course they can be compared:
-OSU has a top 10 offense and defense this season
-OSU defeated the last undefeated P5 team to win the Big 10
-OSU's SOS is like 10x more superior than Bama's
-OSU won their division and conference which Alabama of course did not do
-OSU won the games that MATTERED which Alabama of course did not do otherwise Alabama would've been the SEC West champ

This isn't rocket science and one bad loss is insufficient to eliminate a team from contention per the bylaws if we're considering all the evidence, ask Georgia, Clemson(to a bad Syracuse team), and OU to Iowa State. Alabama and OSU are comparable teams and, if we're applying the bylaws criteria to distinguish, OSU justifiably replaces Alabama and it isn't even close.

I do not think OOC matter now based on today.

That’s why they need to go to At Large system with Auto Champs if keeping committee to seed. A committee is terrible if not all champions are included.

Under Long Champions mattered, Hocutt no. Hocutt has destroyed the credibility of the process.

Peej tell me what Championship that Alabama has though? There lies the issue just using losses. Because specifically in the metric it says Championships.

We all know the undefeated UCF has a championship this season AND they defeated the red-hot Mike Norvell Memphis team twice, OSU has both Big Ten East and Conference titles

I'm cool with 8 -- 5 auto bids and three at large. But, do you take 3 loss Auburn or 1 loss Alabama in this year's scenario? The CCG loser will still get hosed by some teams staying at home during conference championship weekend in that case.

That is why I post my Bylaw bracket thread weekly to show the different scenarios we can have within bylaws and suggestof posters.
