I can argue that logically it was because LSU didn't want to spend the money. You argue that wasn't the reason and it was because of "10 years". Well, time is money, so, maybe I'm right after all.
Its hard to logically argue it's about the money when lsu had the highest paid staff in the country for multiple years under Alleva....

Frankly, I think LSU knew it was being used by Jimbo to leverage FSU and by Herman for Texas.

Jimbo has only gone to A&M because
a) because of the stupid $, but MOSTLY because Jimbo was seeing the handwriting on the wall at FSU ... his relationship deteriorated a lot this year .. ad next year gone the same way .. Jimbo would be in trouble.

He just bought himself at least e3 years at $ 7.5MM

But others argue that Time was the main factor in LSU walking away from Sexton's table.

Time is Money. So, maybe Money is indeed part of the reason.

There is some reason. We can all speculate, but, we will never know the whole truth about why LSU walked away from Sexton's negotiating table.

And by no means do I intend to insinuate that I know that Jimbo would be more successful at LSU than Coach O. That is complete speculation and I won't guess.

But it is good for everyone to know that LSU is willing to pay the highest salary for a football coaching staff. That is a point that needs to be emphasized.
