For the most proven head coach available when the time came, Sexton had the deal laid on the table and LSU walked away.

Was it because of the Years of the deal or the Salary? Maybe a little of both.

But the truth is undeniable -- Sexton had the deal on the table and LSU walked away. We will never know for sure why.

I can argue that logically it was because LSU didn't want to spend the money. You argue that wasn't the reason and it was because of "10 years". Well, time is money, so, maybe I'm right after all.

It's all settled now and there's no use in arguing much further. All I have to say is that, for whatever reason, when the time came for a proven HC to be hired, LSU was either unwilling or unable to close the deal. We now can be fairly certain that Jimbo would have come to LSU for the right deal.

There's no reason to believe that this is a fluke or isolated incident. IMHO, it is a characteristic of how the LSU powers that be do business. That's just my 2 cents.

Its hard to logically argue it's about the money when lsu had the highest paid staff in the country for multiple years under Alleva....
