Ive heard it from two reports saying FSU has publicly said they want to hire a minority.

Why limit yourself like that? Are they trying to please the NAACP?

WTF?

What a stupid concept. Get the best possible person you can convince to come aboard.

But that still doesn't answer the question. They're saying they want to hire a minority, not just interview them.

It's pretty clear a white man can recruit them to Tallahassee but he can't keep them outta the Tallahassee Police Department Offices

The question is will the major donors to the program support such a hire. Many don't. To state they want to hire a minority just for the sake of doing such a hire is stupid. With the money tied up in that program, you go for the best person you get. Otherwise, the program relegates back to the days before Bobby Bowden as well as his final years.

Not to mention it's degrading to whichever minority candidate they target. "Oh look, there's a minority. Hi minority, would accept this generous offer to be our minority coach? We would really like a minority..."

Taggart is the popular choice.

FSU fans would go crazy like Tenner if it was Strong

so apparently Schlabach said on ESPN that he heard the FSU AD would like to hire a minority. and I guess Schlabach's about as connected as there is as a CFB journalist. interesting.

Schlabach is the same guy who basically lived in Tallahassee for months trying to uncover dirt to bring down the program. Taggart just happens to be black. Would the optics of that hire look nice? Yes. But the #2 choice on the board is Justin Fuentes not Charlie Strong, I'd even go so far as to say Charlie Strong would never happen unless we get into a Tennessee situation, which will also never happen.

Isn't actively trying to specifically hire a 'minority' remove the whole 'minority' from the idea? And make it a 'majority'?

What they need is neither black nor white. It’s neon. Make the call Noles.
