Gin is the only liquor I drink. I'm a big fan of Hendricks. But I generally only order it during happy hour when it is 1/2 off. I'm fine with Tanqueray.

My favorite gin is The Botanist, but not many places carry it. Olive or Twist has a really large selection of interesting gins. Many are so good that you don't need to mix them with anything.

Gin and soda is my go-to bar drink. If I get fancy and go martini, I like it with a swirl of lillet blanc and a twist of lemon. Gin cocktails are great too. Anything with lavender, cucumber, lemon, or herb (rosemary, sage, etc.) is a winner. I dig a shaken raw egg type of gin drink too.

Seems like a lot of these would overpower the gin.

That's why I like gin and tonic because the gin comes out most. I use like 100% gin with a splash of tonic and a lime wedge. Or a perfect martini with a lemon twist similar to what you mentioned.

I'm glad you mentioned the Lillet. A favorite in our house is to make a Gin and Tonic with bitters and dry vermouth. Along with whatever you want to garnish with.
