How can the same AD hire both Wade and Orgeron?

Talk about the tale of two different coaching searches.
Perhaps a blind squirrel does indeed find a nut every once in a while.
ETA - To be clear, I'm commenting on the coaching search and strategy, not necessarily on the success/failure of Orgeron at LSU.

How are you suprised. Our ad came from a basketball school, that under his term lost like a gazzilion football games in a row.

Nunez handed Wade to Alleva on a silver platter + the good ole boy network had egg on their face after how bad JJ turned out to be
In football the good ole boy network and local media were out in force for the guy that talks like us + Alleva wanted to win the press conference more than he wants to win football games so he rushed O out there after Herman counteroffered. Pure emotional thinking that he wasnt faced with during the basketball search.
I guarantee if Wade had counteroffered for an extra 50k Alleva would have bailed.

If Alleva is left alone to hire coaches it appears he'll do a good job. That seems like what occurred with Will Wade.
It's when you get the BoS, F. King and other political hacks involved that it screws up the AD's hiring process.

Alleva came from a basketball school so he probably knew what a great basketball coach should look like. Never mind I forget he also hired Johnny Jones.
