Don't feel bad for me. I didn't give up anything. I gained something. I have grandchildren now that run up to me and shower love on me. It's awesome! Like I said, each to his own. I just think parenting is something that is impossible to appreciate until you've done it.
I'm glad you had a great childhood. I do find it strange that you would be such a cynic (about being a parent, not assuming anything else) without some negativity in your background. Are you generally that way, or is it just about being a parent. Not bashing. I'm seriously curious. Do you see the glass half empty or half full?
