Awesome. My only concern is them taking fans away from AUFC. Looking forward to a good rivalry, though.

AUFC shouldn't have to rely on fans from Tennessee

Atlanta metro is plenty big enough.

Cannot wait. It will be a great rivalry.

EDIT: Now I can toss my Orlando kit into the purple bin.

There probably is, I just know there are a lot AUFC season ticket holders in Alabama and Tennessee. Atlanta casts a wide net right now. Nashville may try to go with a more local base though (or reach into Kentucky), with a smaller stadium.

The big question is between ATL and NASH, who will sway the Chattanoogans? They are smack dab in the middle, and were in the same division as Nashville FC and Atlanta Silverbacks Reserves in NPSL. I could see a potential arms race between Nashville and Atlanta to try and secure Chattanooga's current brand as their official USL affiliate. I know the Silverbacks are still operating in NPSL, but I think it helps to expand your overall brand outwards to reach a wider fanbase. See: Seattle Sounders ditching S2 in favor of a club in Tacoma.

Atlanta is considering starting their own USL team, but their current affiliate is Charleston.

Ah, I did not realize they were currently with Charleston Battery. Do you have any idea where they would want to go to to plant their USL club? I'm guessing further south to reach in to Florida perhaps?

I really want Nashville to either go with Chattanooga, bring them up to USL or hit up Louisville. Still, I can't see TEG sharing Louisville.

I imagine AUFC2 would still be in Georgia, not far from Atlanta (looking to start the team in 2018).

This is the group that murdered the supporter owned club. Hope they fail spectacularly.

You mean the supporter owned club that I co-founded, and that we (all co-founders) happily and eagerly voted YES to sell to DMD?

Sure, call it murder if you like.

you had a chance to do something special and instead murdered it to give Don Garber $200 million for the privilege of having SUM and the cartel that's killing American soccer come in and own your market instead.

sad

Lol, we were getting a few hundred per game. That first year everyone was excited, but interest was trailing off big time. Had we not sold the club would cease to exist by now. The club was unsustainable. That’s fact. So if survival and moving on to actual competitive soccer (which was ALWAYS the goal) counts as being murdered, then I, and the rest of our co-founders, are only so happy to do so.

Sorry this makes you sad.

The tired anti MLS diatribes from the usual suspect tend to have that effect.
