Check out sandy creek, west of liberty road as near sandy creek as you can get. Lots of people with in holding will be baiting, so spots near the line on good trails are always good places to cut off deer.

If you can talk to one of their foresters, find out areas that were recently thinned. The browse will take off after a thin. The loggers will also repair their skid rows and logging sets by planting them
They will push fire lines around areas that will be burned in the winter and usually plant those fire lines Great spots for later in the season when acorns stop dropping

Hunted the area for years. Maily for turkeys but some deer.
Walk. A lot.
And put in some midday hunts.
Hunt thickets
Its not easy to hunt areas that your farthest shot is 50 yards but thats where the deer are.
I love that country. Good luck

Doesn’t liberty rd run east and west?

Ha, NW-SE. Good catch though. Stick to the SW side of liberty rd.

Sandy Creek sucks... hunted there alot with no luck and saw more people than deer. Your better off hunting around the national forest but not in the wma's where everyone else is.

Homochitto is a big forrest. What town are you near? You bought some property, does it border the Forrest with private access?

They've done a lot of beetle cuts this year by us, so that's gonna create some thickets soon. May check out your area for those as well. We are on the SW side of the Forest.
