get him an eye patch to wear, it takes a little time but he will correct this if he wants to. eye dominance is a learned habit that can be changed.

i am right handed and left eye dominant and the eye patch thing allowed be to use both eyes equally when shooting.

its a muscle memory thing, he can start by learning to hold his left eye shut, that is the first step and it takes a bit of time to teach your body to react to a movement its not used to

This is precisely how I learned to shoot my bow. Took me all of 3 days to reteach my muscles to close my right eye independent of my left eye.

Now I can shoot with both eyes open, or my left or right eye closed.

I am right handed and am left eye dominant. I can't close my left eye and leave my right eye open. I just can't. I have to manually close my left eye. Some people are just that way. I shoot a pistol right handed but shotgun and rifle left handed.

I am not a fan of the eye patch because ... well this is the outdoor board so everyone here is a gun owner most likely. A large percentage of those carry a gun for self defense. If you need to shoot for self defense and need an eye patch to be able to aim ... well thats not going to work well. This is the same reason why I haven't forced myself to shoot a pistol left handed. While I can shoot with my offhand I can't draw from concealment for shite left handed. I just don't have the dexterity to do it. If I need to draw for self defense it needs to be natural and quick. Thus I shoot with my right hand as the primary.

What really helped me be able to aim better with both eyes open and the left eye dominant problem is to offset your right eye. Meaning while shooting turn your head slightly to the right. This puts the left eye in front of the right and your brain will focus with the left eye more than the right. This allow you to use the dominant eye with the other still open.

It helped me immensely.
