If putting him in now and possibly losing the remaining games is the difference berween Brennan being 100% ready for game 1 next year and him not being ready, I say put him in.

LSU has no star back to rely on next year. Whoever is at QB will have to be ready to roll for Miami. There really isn't anything left to play for this year other than setting up for next year.

I would disagree here. We need to win out and look good doing it for recruiting purposes and bowl seating. I do agree that Brennan will need to be as good as he can possibly be when he starts next season. Meaningful snaps will go a long way to get him there.

Coaches really don't think about next year. Coaches are only concerned with winning the next game. The main reason Orgeron puts him in THIS year is to see if he can take the job and run with it and that he has some meaninful snaps under his belt if Etling gets hurt THIS year. He's played fairly well but hasn't done anything to warrant taking the job from Etling. He'll get all the reps he needs for next year in Spring and Summer camps.
