I’ve noticed recently that a majority of NFL teams do not have the entire endzones painted, and instead just the team name/logo leaving the rest green. Is there a reason for this? An NFL rule?

Personally I think having the entire endzone painted such as many colleges do looks much better and was just wondering if there is a reason why

Makes it quicker to repaint for games played by college teams and such.

It depends on if the stadium gets repurposed frequently or not.

Some places also paint vs have the turf already that team's color(s).

It's really lame when teams don't paint the end zones

No excuse for NO KC GB Pitt MIA redskins Bears to not have painted end zones they are either the only occupants in the stadium or the college teams they share with have very similar colours

Pitt MIA

Both have College teams play in their stadium. Pitt Panthers colors are blue and gold btw. Miami tries to make it similar with the orange outline

Miami have orange endzones that say Miami Pittsburgh have yellow endsones that say Pittsburgh

Easy to adjust the trim color and have the majority of the letters be white

Eagles have fully painted endzones and Temple plays there too it's lazy as frick to not paint the endzones

But when you think about it, it’s only a couple of teams that don’t do it

Saints Falcons Bears Packers Redskins Broncos Chargers Chiefs Texans Seahawks Cardinals Titans Jaguars Dolphins Patriots Steelers all have unpainted endzones - half of the league.

Only the Patriots and Seahawks have legit reasons bc of MLS shared stadiums (not even sure if NE still shares Stadium)

Sorry, the current Saints end zones are way better than those black monstrosities they used to have

I actually like it sometimes when they do the throwback and just have the diagonal lines.

I saw a while back that the saints didn't have their endzone painted once they put in the field turf because it was too slick when painted. Don't know for sure, but I know that's when they switched from the black endzones.
