Taxes on capital gains

What's in the proposal?

From what I’ve seen it doesn’t change the capital gains tax treatment. However if the tax brackets remain as proposed there will be a significant portion of the population that will pay more on long term capital gains at 15% as opposed to short term which is taxed as ordinary income under the new tax bracket at 12%. Interesting to see how this plays out.

Doesn't change the rate from what I gather. There is some language that appears to change to brackets of capital gains tax and how much of your capital gains is subject to taxation.

There is currently a 0% cap gains rate for those in the 10 and 15 brackets. Something similar with happen.
