That’s favorability/likability. We can do job approval as well. Just as dicey.

I don't think it is necessary for a president to be "liked" by the people.
The presidency calls for tough decisions that may appear mean to many. Truman, Bush 1, among others were not "liked" at the end of their terms in part because of tough but morally correct decisions.
