Why the he'll would the Yankees trade anything worth while for Machado when they can wait a year and sign him as a FA?

Only if they're worried that he will be traded with a team that can re-up with him. But even in that case, the Yankees would have to REALLY want Machado. And I'm not sure they want him that badly.
