Rangers are pretty thin at catcher.

I'm thinking Luhnow must have his eye on a FA he feels good about or a Rule5 guy. That's the only reason he'd punt centano and leave a 40-man spot open.

I don't think there was enough offense to overcome his defensive liabilities.

We won a WS w McCann and Gattis back there. I think they feel pretty good about their chances of finding someone to fill Gattis' shoes defensively.

Not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but at the fund raiser I attended recently, Strom told a story about the ALCS Game 5 in NY. He went to visit Keuchel on the mound and Gattis walked up. Strom said we must have our signals crossed up. We're supposed to pitch Headley up and Hicks down. Gattis said he got his H's mixed up. Keuchel shook his head and said white up and black down.

Gattis won't be catching many games next year. Maybe what Centeno and Stassi got this year. Maybe.
