Going in late November.
What do I need aside from a gun/optics(on loan from a long time, responsible Hunter who I'll be going in the woods with)?
Thanks!

I should also add:
I took my required Hunter safety course, 10+ hour in person class, and obtained a license.
And also, we've practiced with the rifle I'll be using, and going once more before our hunt.

Warm clothing. I lived in Mentor, east of Cleveland, for about three years. Winters were miserable.

Be sure of your target and what's behind it.
A range finder and good binoculars.

Does Ohio allow rifles? I thought they were a shotgun only state.

Good pair of binoculars on stand really help to pass the time and are much safer than using your scope to view things. Anyone that tells you they don't use their scope when they don't have binos are lying.
Hand warmers and boot warmers. It's impossible to describe the cold you get while hunting and sitting still for 4 hours at a time compared to normal activity. It will be much colder then you expect.

Make sure whatever you have on will block the wind. Not sure where you are hunting in the state but all of western Ohio and anywhere near the lakes is going to be windy. Insanely windy.
Also bring a big cooler, Ohio deer are huge

Turns out we're using scoped shotguns for the hunt.
Went out and practiced today and I'm confident I can make a clean kill.
