Word of Warning:

Do NOT let an iPhone or iPod get near this magnet!

I have one in my Yukon and the magnet unfortunately ate my old iPod classic for lunch. I saw it slip onto the magnet and when I grabbed it to change the song it just went through each song like there was no file there. The magnet really messed up the hard drive.

I haven't seen it happen to an iPhone but if the magnet managed to mess up the hard drive on my iPod I don't see how it wouldn't do the same for the phone. I also don't want to be the first to find out.

As for the magnet itself, it's covered in rubber and is pretty strong. But I've actually used it a lot less than I expected.

The only gun that I've had any issues with is my Glock 17 fully loaded with a TLR1s. If I hit a big bump or have to make a sudden stop, it breaks free on occasion.

Thanks for the heads up. I use an iPod classic too so I'll be careful not to let them near each other.

I'd be surprised if it caused a problem with a phone since there's no hard drive. But you never know.
