Last time my oven needed cleaning, I put my cast iron pots in, no chemical spray, while the oven did it’s self cleaning mode. When complete and cooled, Took pots out and followed a traditional seasoning method. Word of caution, wait for a day when you can open plenty of windows as it will get smoky'

yeah, I;m trying to avoid the oven method. an outside method is preferable.
