Hats off to OM, the Gameday experience was top-notch.

My notes from the weekend:

1. The Grove wasn't nearly as crowded as Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, and the talent on campus was... enjoyable. And I literally couldn't find a single chandelier hanging from inside of a tent.

2. Their stadium doesn't boast the seat numbers that TS does, but that just means that your view is going to be better.

3. Chicken-on-a-Stick was good, not great. Glad we made it over to the Chevron to try it out after the game though.

4. Most OM fans that we encountered were very pleasant, and most expressed that they hoped we were being treated well. They asked us to dismiss any other OM fans that may have not represented OM in the best manner. Losing is too tough for some to handle appropriately.

5. The LSU section above the band started chanting "WE WANT BAMA" as the game clock expired. Clearly they were able to sneak in as much alcohol in to the stadium as they wanted...

I've only been to a few SEC opponent's venues so far (with the rest still being on the bucket list), but Ole Miss is one that I would gladly go to again. Overall, great experience.

This would not have been the same if they thought they were going to win.

That's because they know they suck this year. And they lost. Go back when Ol Miss has a good team and it's a terrible place for opposing fans. And if they win it's even worse.

I had a blast. Always do when I go there and we win. Sure thought the north corner section of the LSU fanbase was about to cross over into that student section and whoop their arse. They would have needed more than a Sonic to settle that size of a brawl.

Ole Miss is like romper room even when they do win compared to Gainesville or Arkansas. Now the Gators and Hogs take hazing to a new level. frick em I love other fanbases talking shite. Eat that shite up particularly when we win.

The NCAA has already started confiscating them

I have a friend who can also vouch for this. He said it became in issue.

How is putting any part of the visitor section adjacent to the student section a good idea?

I was there, it was classless. But I agree, its a problem from the start, why put any large group of opposing fans anywhere near the student section?

Good review, and glad you had a good time. I did not go this year, but in past years, I can remember seeing tents on the Grove with silver, chin, chandeliers and a butler. The majority of the people were very nice, but I do remember a handful of jerks. That was ok. I have a pretty high tolerance for that kind of stuff.

"How is putting any part of the visitor section adjacent to the student section a good idea?..."...

Ask alabummer about doing that........One year('03 I think) we were about 5 feet from their student section in an EZ----only had a ~ 5ft hurricane fence running up & down the aisle between their student section & our LSU section.......

BTW, NONE of them liked to hear 'Da Bar is Daed."......A couple almost came over that sucker.....

I was with OP. We walked all through the grove and didn't see a single chandelier. Our eyes were constantly distracted tho.
