Harbaugh is a very good coach, but it was (and is) foolish to name him in the same breath as Saban and Meyer in the college ranks to this point. The media had a lot to do with that.
His seat shouldn't be warm, but he should be expected to live up to his salary by next season. Would a division title in year 4 be acceptable, at least?

I'd dock his arse a million damn dollars every time he took his shirt off at practice.

Hey a reasonable post.
They should be pretty good next year, but the schedule is tough with road games a ND, MSU, and OSU, and they will probably be breaking in a new QB. So, it's probably just never going to work out timing wise with Harbaugh unless people cool it and give him another 2-3 years to get back to at least where they were last year (yes, it was 10-3, but they mostly played at a high level and just had some tight losses). I believe they lost more starters than anyone in the country, they're on a backup transfer QB and lost their best receiver. There are maybe 3-5 teams that can overcome that. Look a what Jimbo is doing now. He sucks, right?
Brian Kelly was on the hot seat and even Dantonio was catching a ton of crap for 3-9, but those school are staying the course and it's paying dividends. The problem is, Harbaugh is such a lightning rod and is being paid so much that a couple of 8-4s the next few years, and people will be out with the pitchforks.

When was the last time Michigan remotely won anything?
