First, to the POS that cut the lock on my camera and stole it, screw you.

This was in the woods where it's about a 6 mile boat ride.

A buddy and I chased squirrels yesterday with our rifles. I should have had damn near a limit if I was accurate.

Walking out, stepped next to a log and saw the devil. It went under the log after being gut shot and another devil came out. The stuff of nightmares.

Have a chicken stock simmering for a squirrel, hog Tasso and fresh deer sausage gumbo.

Took a shot at a decent 8 pt. at 38 yds. He ducked and the arrow shaved a few hairs off his back without him knowing what happened. Pretty upset about it but it's way better than wounding him. He casually fed his way out the plot before I got a second arrow knocked. He'll be back.

After dealing with a dead battery (Lapeyrouse Grocery literally has everything) along with a 15-20mph wind, somehow ended the day with 60 trout.

Friday morning I climbed into my stand, got my camera set up and was nocking an arrow when I heard a ruckus off to my right about 40 yards. Pigs moving through the woods. It's still 20 minutes to daylight so I continue getting situated and settle in. It's fairly quiet until first light. At 7:15 they start coming in and I get a 15 yard shot on a nice sow. She was slightly quartering away, I double lunged her, she ran about 20 yards and I watched her flip over on the trail just to my left.

The other pigs slowly moved off, unsure of what just happened. They went to my right and fed under an oak for 15 minutes. They began to leave and I thought they'd come back through the plot but they attempted to skirt around through the tall grass. I had one lane trimmed through the overgrown brush. Another sow steps into the lane at 30 yards and I make true on another shot. This one runs about 80 yards.

All in all a good day except for them breaking two $12 arrows and one $10 lighted nock

I normally shoot Rage Xtreme broadheads but carry some Meat Seekers for non-deer shots. I was able to switch out my arrow before shooting and was very pleased with the results of the meat seeker. The broadhead punched through both sides of both pigs but the arrow didn't completely pass through (resulting in the 2 broken arrows)

ETA: my first pig kills with a bow

ETA 2: Got both of these shots on film so I hope to get a video produced in a week or so

Finally was able to plant this past weekend. Was forecasted to get an 1 inch of rain from the front. Ended up getting 4-6 inches of rain Saturday night and a lot of the creeks flooded. Hoping all that work planting wasn't completely washed away.
