How long does it take you guys to hang a lock on?

I've never tried, always used a climber. But I hate the climber due to having to hunt for perfect trees, rather than going up anything.

Always figured it'd take a lot longer to hang a lock on/take it down for pack in/out hunting.

Any of yall leave a climber in the woods? Don't wanna leave my viper in the woods overnight, but thought about buying a cheap climber and leave it chained up to the tree in my spot so I don't have to backpack a climber a mile in and out of the woods every time I go out there.

How would it hold up to the weather being left out there all season? I'm more worried about that than thieves since the spot is a good ways off the beaten path

There's guys that can set up a loc on in basically the same amount of time it takes you to use a climber. The better stands are made to be portable.

Depending on the terrain, the nice thing about a loc on is you often don't need to get super high. I mean you can use 3 sticks and hunt at 12 feet and be perfectly fine in a tree with a ton of cover.

Where as if you are using a climber you likely want to be up higher as your tree likely is bare.

With my set up about the same as my climber. I use 3 lone wolf sticks with the rope modification and tubular webbing aider to get an extra 15" on each one. With a linemans belt and the stand on my back, I can have all three sticks up in maybe 5 minutes. Wrap the ez hook around the tree for my lone wolf assault, attach the stand and bottom strap and done. Pull bow up and hunt.
