Does anyone believe the selling point has been "come tO LSU and we will get you to the NFL". as opposed to "come to name a school East if here and you can win Championships every year."

Could this be why our guys leave aftet their third year? And other schools players stay for 4 to 5?

Well now the pitch is hoping and praying. Which is a stellar plan befitting a national championship program, dont you think?

It used to be a solid selling point because you'd still be able to have a shot at a championship.

Now, I'm not convinced O can prepare these kids for the NFL or compete for championships.

Are you suggesting unnamed school to the east of us is not pushing their location as a means to get to the NFL...that they are only pushing collegiate championships, and THAT'S what's selling recruits?

Nah...they are selling that IN ADDITION TO being a conduit to the NFL. When unnamed school's unnamed coach is considered to be the greatest modern college football coach, it sort of helps with both, right?

I'm sure being a contender for a championship gives the juniors at least a little incentive to stay for their senior year. I'm not saying it's a deciding factor but I'm sure it doesn't hurt.

LSU recruiting policy in the MILES era,

Was setting up a surveillance van outside of Hahnville and Destrehan Highschools 24/7..

He forgot about all the other highschools around the state and across state lines.

LSU currently has 2 players from DHS and none from HHS as far as I can tell. Maybe that's our issue...we're only using 2 players each game?

I am sure that PLAYING IN THE SEC and EXPOSURE helping them get to the NFL is a point used by all SEC coaches....

Each team will also use examples of all the school's players in the NFL as examples...

just good salesmanship / business

This literally could be the dumbest post ever on the rant
When is the last time LSU signed someone from Hanville?

During Les' tenure he signed kids from all over the state and signed more out of state kids than ever before.

They leave after the third year to get started on the first NFL contract early, so they can get to the second NFL contract sooner. The second NFL contract is where the real money is. More might stay if the NFL had not moved to rookie slotted contracts several years ago.

Nothing seems to be selling right now and how do you build without stellar recruiting. This class is in trouble and trying to sell a recruit on our head guys ability is not gonna happen. This is not meant to be a negative post about Ed it’s just the truth and that’s negative.
