I don't think the outrage is phony. It was out of line thing to say and he should issue a public apology (IDK if he has or not).

With that being said, this isn't the first time we've seen a player or coach be dismissive of the media in some fashion (Brian Kelly immediately comes to mind).

It was dumb and insulting and shouldn't have been said given that she's a reporter trying to do a job.

However, it's not wrong to say that most women don't know enough about sports to intelligently discuss the "routes" WRs are running. Anyone being honest should be able to admit that.

It's also not wrong to point out that the woman's question as it relates to "routes" didn't make sense. She pretty obviously didn't know what she was talking about.

it seems to me that many want to pretend that it's not the exception that women know about football in a detailed way. I find that monumentally stupid because the truth is obvious. More importantly, the truth doesn't say anything negative about women. It's the truth not because football is rocket science and women aren't smart enough. It's because women, in general, don't have the same interest in football as men. Yet the libs want to crucify people who express that opinion.

She personally wasn't virtue signaling, other people were.

She's dumb for not deleting her old tweets though.

yes she was said he insulted her and millions of women

I guess if I was in her position I would have defused the whole thing but maybe she forgot about dear old racist dad

now if she ever asks cam newton about routes again, it will be really funny.

it's really funny because all of these media figures and reporters took a side with a false understanding of what the sides were

now that lacks nuance, but it's how the world works. love it

never has something so fricking dumb brought me such pure joy

1. When? I've never seen this

2. She's right though.

Imagine someone as famous as Cam telling you on tv how funny it is that you're doing your job because of something you cannot change*

It's all stupid and hilarious.

But I will die on this hill that she didn't make it a big deal, others did.

"My Dad's the best, super racist, racist jokes the whole drive home."

And OMG, a male in an all-male sport, with all-male coaches and assistants...dared offend you by saying it's funny. The horror. At least he didn't brag about how funny his racist Dad was...good thing she isn't a beat reporter for the Redskins...her Dad might disown her.

The hypocrisy of the left in full bloom.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. She opened herself up to scrunity by asking a question and getting that response from Cam? Because she didn't do anything else. She's not the one leading the outrage. She hasn't said shite about it.

Actually, after the press conference, she went to talk to Cam one on one and her fellow reporters asked her if he apologized and she responded "Nope, he doubled down." (Which, by the way, he didn't.)

Sure sounds like she was looking for some victim action to me.

How does any of that mean she was looking for victim action? Someone else asked her if he apologized, she didn't bring it up. Do we even know what she said to Cam?

She answered someone else's question, she didn't come out and cry about it. She literally said it's not worth it, I have to work.

This has 100% been media assclowns being offended on her behalf. She hasn't said a word since right after it happened, so it seems to me she's just trying to work. Every tweet has been team related since it happened.

Yes, but I'm just going by memory here, but I saw it last night on a Carolina forum. Reporterette and Newton had a conversation and Newton said that he shouldn't have said what he said with the "female" thing and that it would have been better if he had said "reporter".

Here's a link to a vid with Ron Rivera describing that meeting.

https://twitter.com/SteveReedAP/status/916018262454018048

In other words, Newton admitted to the reporterettes face that he shouldn't have said it. But that wasn't enough for the reporterette and the White Knights of the Holy Vagina Defense in the SJW media.

Because all strong, independent women need a Holy Order of White Knights to defend them and punish their transgressors.

Reporterette could have ended it all with one sentence: "He told me he shouldn't have said it, so its over."

The fact that she DIDN'T is very telling.

He clearly didn't mean reporter though. He meant female.

Because he didn't say that. He said he should've said reporter instead of female.

He meant female. We all know it's funny to hear a chick talk football, but cam lacks the awareness to know you can't say that shite.

Of course the media would ultimately blame a white man (her dad) out of this whole story. The white man is always the bad one.
