You're reaching a little far man. You are basically saying that if you give up bump stocks, the government will be coming for your tennis shoes next.
That's not what I said. What I said was that you should care about your rights and not be willing to forfeit or give concessions on any of them or parts of them that you don't care about. If all you do is compromise eventually you will have compromised your entire right away.

I said that I don't care if they get banned, and probably > 100 million people don't either, so it isn't as big of an issue as you make it out to be. They just don't affect people, so people don't care.
100 million people probably don't care about taxes rising either. Doesn't mean it doesn't harm you.

i dont think you understand the definition of compromise...in political terms it's common meaning is "give & take".
for example...
1) accept a ban on or heavily regulated bump-fire stocks
2) in return, pass national right-to-carry reciprocity
nobody cared about bump fire stocks before monday. like i said before, i was amazed that they are legal, but certainly they were not a topic of conversation and i venture that not 5 in 100 americans even knew what they were. this is an opportunity to get something in return, ie "compromise"

They want a compromise then here is one.....
Pass the noise reduction act (suppresors) and you can take the bump fire stocks in return.
THATS a compromise I can get behind

I dont think you understand how the world works outside of a dictionary. Are those the terms? They give us back something they took and take something else? By my count were still down one in that arrangement. How does that play out at the state level? What did Californians get in return for the assault weapon ban, what did other localities get in return for magazine bans, what did we get in return for the Clinton ban, the GCA, the NFA?

Anyone who thinks this will happen ignores everything that has ever happened with gun control. We already have a right to carry btw, it's called the 2A. Fight for it. Don't fight for new laws. Fight for the existing provisions of the constitution that have been trampled on.

We Already should be able to universally carry. It's called the second amendment.

Did you fight tooth and nail for Jarts? I really liked them. Now, all they have is these stupid Nerf ones that aren't even dangerous.
Did you vehemently oppose the new bullshite gas cans? Everyone hates those.
Like I said earlier, I am not a politician, but this seems like a tactic that the NRA will use to get some concessions. They can stick something on there because, hey, who is gonna be the a-hole to go against a bill that would ban what happened? Or maybe they have something else in the works?
Washington is a cesspool. We all know that. They do shady shite 100x a day.
It isn't an issue for me, so yes, I see it as a compromise on something I'm willing to let go. I believe that the NRA gave up so easily because they have something in the works

How could I forget the 54th Amendment..The right to use gas cans of choice shall not be infringed.

It seems like individual states would be able to just circumve t this with their own ban. Not to mention that bill would likely be littered with bullshite or left very open to interpretation later.

Don't lie man, you wish you would've fought that. We all do

How the frick can you say that? He used a crank trigger or whatever. Big deal. He still had a dozen guns and thousands of rounds of ammo. That dude planned and prepared for this for years.
If he hadn't found crank trigger, he'd have figured out another way. He was a pilot. He had shite tons of money - he likely would acquired whatever. If he chosen to go forward with his plan without such a device, the body count could have been a couple fewer, the same, or more.
Mateen killed 49 with a Sig MCX and a Glock 17 (Under $2000 for guns, accessories and ammo) - no bloody bump fire/slide fire/crank trigger nonsense at all. You think a millionaire can't at least match that?
We know where this ends - banning all semis (and heavily restricting everything else).

The fact that he was very wealthy is the most curious part of it for me.

It is intriguing. There are so many unanswered questions.
And the tidbit about his father being on the 10 Most Wanted List from '69 to '77 - and his father was apparently obsessed with Bingo (whereas this piece of garbage had a thing for video poker.)

They won't come take shite from people. They would just not allow the manufacture or sale of them anymore
