Got an 1100 on XMAS day when I was 15, only shotgun I've ever owned, 30" full choke, split that barrel in Maurepas swamp 1969.
Replaced with a 28" modified, I sometimes had a problem with it jamming but not often, that gun has been thru hell.

I can't ever remember mine jamming, and I have used it for duck hunting and skeet shooting since I got it from my dad at 16. He used it for the same since he was a teenager.

Got mine for Xmas when I was 14. 28" modified. Shot many squirrels, rabbits, and birds with it, and cleaned it with WD-40. We thought that was proper care back then. Never had a hiccup.
It sat in the closet for 20 years. When I took it to the range, it worked like a champ.
