You called me out when I told you George going there was a game changer...It’s all good though I’m just giving you a hard time.

Russ wants money more than he wants championships, that's my inference from this and likely his legacy if he doesn't win a title over these next 5 years. Selfishness at the expense of altruism and team success.

For frick's sake.

All that money won't bring OKC a ring.

He will never win a championship at OKC. Congrats on the money though.

And that'll be his legacy: screw championships and being considered among the all-time greats, I want money!

I would definitely take 500k a game for some ding dong like you to worry I know that

Westbrook takes a monster deal, he wants money over titles.
Harden takes a monster deal, he didn't really want the money, rather Have a title.
MSB guys.

Biggest deal in OKC history and you're here bitching about Harden.

I honestly didn't react much to the Harden contract, he's in a great situation with D'Antoni with CP3 and has really evolved as a player and floor general and they should be contenders again within that incredible offense. The reason I said what I said was I think Russ should've tested the free agent market next year and consult with the teams with different situations than the Russ-dominant Thunder bc he should be paid the max regardless and it's about winning championships in the end. They've already disposed of Oladipo and McDermott and subsequently disposed of a draft pick and Enes Kanter for Melo of all people, so they've essentially exchanged key components of a team that won 47 games last year and could've won 3-4 more for a great player in PG13 which is a great and credible trade and a declining Melo who is the epitome of selfishness. Without a half of the Stache Brothers and with Melo, that team is not defeating Golden State any time soon nor should it be considered a top 2 conference team in the near future. All this really indicates is that Russ isn't concerned about winning titles as he's concerned about being THE MAN and ballhogging, it's cool only his legacy as an NBA player is at stake but he's not woke enough for that.

The team last year with Russ off the court was one of the worst in the NBA. Go look at his on court/off court stats.
There’s a reason 6th seed team produced an MVP which almost never happens. Russ had to be in God mode for them to even make it to the playoffs and there they only made it 5 games. In large part because they couldn’t play certain players such as one you mentioned, Kanter, against the Rockets.
Edit:
To be clear: you’re questioning them trading Oladipo (horrible contract) + Sabonis for George AND questioning trading Kanter, McDermott, and a 2nd round pick for Melo??

oladipo/mcdermott/sabonis/kanter or george and melo
kanter's contract is a HUGE albatross and he's not that great.
The goal for OKC was two things:
1. not lose another superstar
2. try to keep george
whatever you say, mcdermott and kanter were not going to keep george. Melo might be able to.
But yes, lets blame westbrook for staying with a team and not ring chase when he's in his prime. He can never go down as one of the greatest, because he's simply not. He could very well go ring chase, but he's choosing not to and try to win with this core of him-george-melo and whoever else presti might be able to get.
